RAS was tasked with obtaining new digital color aerial imagery and performing high precision topographic aerial mapping for this project. The aerial photography and mapping covered a 1,000 foot wide strip centered on those routes encompassing approximately 1,615 acres.
A Full Analytical Triangulation (FAT) was performed. RAS then compiled planimetric mapping at a scale of 1”=30’ with spot elevations at required locations throughout the corridor. The resulting digital file for the 1”=30’ scale mapping contains land use features within the project limits such as track locations, concrete barriers, edges of roads, overhead bridges, drives, curb lines, catch basins, subway grates, etc. The InRoads Digital Terrain Model (DTM) was generated from the data collected. One-foot contours were generated and edited for this project.
